Ropes Course

Soar through the trees at 20 miles per hour at the Thousand Pines Confidence Course.  On this exhilarating outdoor adventure, participants can not only look forward to thrills and excitement but also to overcoming fears and building strong relationships.  Facilitated by trained qualified staff, the course challenges individuals to work together in groups to creatively problem solve and encourage one another through each of the elements.

Our course is comprised of three major elements: the Rock Wall and Zip Line, the Low Ropes Course and "Leap of Faith."*  Our 32' foot Rock Wall offers climbers three different routes to the top, ranging from easy to skilled.  Once atop the wall, guests can repel back to the ground using our auto-belay system or choose to sail down the 400' Zip Line.  The Low Ropes Course is especially effective for team building.  Groups of three help each other through a series of obstacles, promoting cooperation and communication.  Lastly, you can take the "Leap of Faith" from a platform high in the trees to the waiting trapeze bar.

Campers can enjoy all three elements of the course for $5 per person. The course is also available for private day use for $10 per person.

There are three ropes elements available at Ponderosa: the Giant Swing, Zipline and Low Ropes Course. A ropes element designed for our younger campers, the Giant Swing is a great way to help children learn trust. Campers climb up a set of stairs and are harnessed into a set of cords. They can jump off of the platform and swing back and forth for an exhilirating ride! The Ponderosa Zipline is also designed for children. Kids can climb up the Tree House, run across the shakey bridge and jump from the farther platform for a 200' ride across camp. Ponderosa Low Ropes is designed to build confidence and teamwork in campers of all ages, and has obstacles unique to Ponderosa.

For weekend guests, recreation sign-ups are typically Saturday morning at breakfast. Rec sign-ups are taken on a "first come first serve" basis.

Ponderosa campers can use this for free during the summer program. For more information about using the Ponderosa course for your retreat, call (888) 423-2267.

These physically challenging elements promise to be an exciting, stretching experience for you and your group.

* The "Leap of Faith" is available upon request; it is not offered at Program Camps.
